Ceremonies and Ritual
There is great power in using ceremony and ritual to mark the many tender transitions that we make through life’s journey. As an Everyday Priestess, and in the way of Interfaith Ministers, I am committed to following the call of people’s hearts and souls to meet their needs, in ways that reflect their personal beliefs and values- those of all faiths, spiritual paths and none.
I am available to support you in creating ceremonies, personal or group, for any time that is significant to you such as: children’s rites of passage, vow renewals, big birthdays, graduations, house blessing, adoption blessings, miscarriage, termination of pregnancy, gender reassignment, relationship separation, divorce, healing ceremonies, land blessings, pet funerals, retirement, community ceremonies- let your imagination find ways to bless the sacred in your life’s unfolding.
Rites of Passage
YOUNG PEOPLE’S RITES: I believe it is particularly important for us in these times to recreate life’s rites of passage particularly for children and young people. I work with parents and children to explore and design processes to mark transitions of maturing through life, such as aged 7 to mark the development of conscious responsibility, and from childhood to adolescence marking the development of independence. These can be particularly exciting and significant for young people when they involve outdoor adventures, overnight trips or ongoing activities combined with inner reflection and ritual.
These may be alternatives or complimentary to traditional religious rites such as Catholic confirmation or communion.
WOMEN’S RITES: It can be very empowering, supportive and exciting for women to mark their own and each-others significant thresholds in life such as- adolescence; maidenhood, adulthood, motherhood (or not), aunthood, menopause, grand- mothering, elder. These are significant stages in women’s lives physically, emotionally and spiritually. The transition from one to another can benefit greatly from acknowledgement and support. I work with groups and individuals to celebrate these powerful stages of womanhood, work that we do for ourselves, our daughters and our communities.
Men of course journey through similar transits through their lives and there is great importance and power in holding ceremonies for you too! I do often work with young men’s ceremonies, am happy to hold ceremonies for men and can recommend some wonderful colleagues who may be more suited to support.
I hold monthly workshops for women- please contact me if you would like more information.
